Dec 25 - had a 4 hour nap. runny eyes, runny nose. Minor congestion in sinuses. Reduced facial inflammation. Easier time swallowing (noticeable). Sat on ground and wasn’t stiff and achy trying to get up or walk around. Get tired easily but I’m not fatigued with this blanket of endless fatigue. Itchy ears. Felt pretty energetic and had my bubbly happy personality back for the first time in a while! I really enjoyed watching my kids unwrap presents and then playing with them . I haven't had energy to do much more them keep them fed and safe lately; there hasn't been any playing but I had energy today and I SO enjoyed being able to participate with them and be PRESENT again. I missed that.
Dec 26 - Today I was a bit more swollen again in my face but NOTHING compared to before. However I did intake a bit more sugar yesterday because of the holiday and I know sugar is a trigger for me. That and alcohol I have serious sensitivity too. When I don't consume sugar or minimize it things are much better for me. I had sneezing, runny nose this morning. Sinuses a tad bit more congested, but again not as bad as before explanting. It's cleared fairly quickly. I still feel pretty energetic and awake. My joint pain and stiffness is gone, I noticed I can sit on the floor and play with my kids (yes PLAY with my kids!!!! that's a huge huge accomplishment!) and then get up and not feel like I'm 90 years old being so stiff and sore I can hardly move for the first few minutes. I can swallow pretty good and don't have too bad of a phlegmy sensation in my throat, it's still not 100% but it's a big improvement from choking on water. I have normal temperature limbs again this morning and no hot flashes over night. I didn't sleep so great, a bit restless, but I'm going to chalk that up to the intake of sugar right before bed. All the Christmas cookies, cakes, pastries and chocolates.. Yup I totally broke my rigid rule staying away fro those yesterday, but I'm back to usual as of today. At least until my body shows it's ready to handle that. I have not tried alcohol and don't plan to for a while as my tolerance of it was 0... I know my body needs time and many more symptoms need to be resolved before I put more strain on it. I don't have a headache today and no nausea for the last few days. I don't feel like I have the flu. That's amazing. Pretty happy so far. Nauseas. Allergy attack symptoms- sneezing, sinus inflammation, congestion, runny nose and eyes watering. Not as bad but reoccurrence. Tired but not as bad. Hands itchy. Swelling in hands/feet minor. Ate a lot of sugar between Xmas eve and today and it seems to be showing. Back on track, cutting the sugar off. It’s been a trigger for a while and body is definitely not ready to handle it yet.
Dec 27 - I woke up today with my "old" symptoms. Don't panic if you are reading this, it's NORMAL for the recovery phase to be up and down. I used to NEVER have good days, in the first 9 days post explant I've had more then half of those days with much less inflammation and significantly better feeling. Remember no matter what I did before I couldn't achieve this, so I am very optimistic and I look at it as even alternating between good and bad days is better then only having bad days. So I have a very swollen face today, sinuses are completely congested, nose running, eyes watering, sneezing, trouble swallowing, blurry vision. Hands are swollen, had to pull the wedding bands off (almost couldn't that how swollen up they are today). Ears are itchy and my hands are itchy. This coudl be part of the normal healing process, or my other theory is it coudl have been triggered by all the sugar I consumed the last few days over Christmas. I ate my usual healthy stuff but I definitely indulged in the chocolates, desserts, pastries and all the other delicious things that come out this time of year. Up to then I had almost 0 sugar daily, and sugar is absolutely a trigger for me and was before explant. I don't expect my body miraculously cleared YEARS of heavy metal exposure in a week, that is just not possible. So I have to be careful with my diet and allow my body time to heal without bombarding it with triggers yet (which presumably take away from its ability to heal from this surgery and begin to rid my body of the toxins built up). Anyway I am being honest, it's no fu feeling this way, but I am blessed I had a few days so far that I felt amazing! That has not happened in probably 6 months or so. I’ll be taking it easier in the next few days. It’s easy to forget I went theu major surgery just 9 days ago because I have felt so much better but that also means it’s easy to overtax my body. It has its work cut out between healing from surgery, keeping up with my daily needs and then detoxing all the chemicals and heavy metals that have plagued my body for 7 years...... tomorrow is a new day.
Dec 28 - Flare up is still here! Face is pretty swollen and puffy today, but my throat feels better. Sinuses are better but I do have a runny nose, water eyes and have been sneezing lots. Hands are stiff and achy and a bit swollen. Headache this evening, took a walk outside with dog and felt a bit tired but okay still. Feel happier and lighter. Less tense and less noise sensitive. Face was itchy and tingly feeling. Facial inflammation again.
Dec 29 - had runny nose, watery eyes, facial inflammation. Hands were tight and stiff. Bloated. Nausea. I needed to lay down for a bit in the morning. Got my hair done. But by evening started feeling like a cloud was lifting literally and felt way better again. In the morning I felt like I was going to get a yeast infection again but those symptoms dissipated by the late afternoon.
Dec 30 - Sinuses were pretty clear this morning, same with throat. No headache or nausea at all today. I felt really awake and energetic all day. Face was way less inflamed today, still some there compared to before implanting, but it's better then the last few days (flare up). Joints felt good. I was laughing a lot more today, I felt like myself.... Not "dead." I've had no personality lately. My face wasn't posed before explanting that look is what I was and how I felt and how i looked every single day...... Now I feel alive, like my spirit and soul have returned. It's neat and a little surprising still, but I will take it!! Overall felt a lot more normal (as in before implant illness normal) today! This is also super important. This is the face at the end of the day at nearly 11 pm having been up, playing with kids and then spending the afternoon and late evening with extended family visiting. I was able to feel awake and present ALL DAY! I drove home at 9:45 pm and was not worried I would fall asleep. I didn’t have trouble with seeing in the dark like I was having before explanting. I don’t look dead. This may sound really normal to everyone, but just 13 days ago this wasn’t possible. I couldn’t stay up past 7 pm. I felt like I’d nod off at the wheel even over the noon hour. I was having blurry night vision and getting confused when driving; not being able to tell what was happening (which is why I stopped night driving)...... this is a huge moment.
Dec 31 - Woke up feeling pretty good this morning. A little bit of inflammation in my face again this morning. Eyes are watering a little, but not bad and they are a little itchy feeling. Sinuses have minor congestion but my nose is not running. No sneezing so far. Joints feel great. Head feels great. I feel energized and awesome today! I also want to add that I am noticing my cognitive function is improving. It's not what it was but I am finding words easier, not losing my train of thought all the time, things are clearer and make more sense, even blogging is more fluid like it used to be. This is a welcome change because my deterioration in my cognitive abilities was starting to scare me!
